Apple Announces 'Move to iOS' Android Application That Will Migrate Your Files to an iPhone

Apple has announced a new 'Move to iOS' application that will launch on Android and iOS -- alongside iOS 9. The app will make is very easy for Android users to switch to iPhone.

Just download the Move to iOS app to wirelessly switch from your Android device to your new iOS device. It securely transfers your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts, calendars, wallpaper, and DRM-free songs and books. And it will help you rebuild your app library, too. Any free apps you used — like Facebook and Twitter — are suggested for download from the App Store. And your paid apps are added to your iTunes Wish List.

Apple says the app will let you transfer all your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts, calendars, wallpaper, and DRM-free songs and books. It will even suggest any free apps to download that were previously on your Android device. Paid apps will obviously have to be re-downloaded, but they'll be added to your iTunes wishlist.

The 'Move to iOS' app will likely launch on Google's Play store and App Store with iOS 9 in the fall.

HTC has had that for about 3 or 4 years now. Nice to see Apple copying HTC once again.

They pick wrong phone for the picture, cuz HTC One looks way better than iPhone and IS a better phone. Wish I could install iOS on that phone, instead of transferring files to iPhone.

Finally! A solution that can hopefully transfer my angry birds data to iPhone! It has been 5 years and at the beginning, I owned an android my dad won which he gave to me (couldn't afford the new iPhone at the time).

It's not going to transfer your save files, those probably won't be compatible with the different operating systems(iOS/android) but it's possible for the app developers to make them transferable. Maybe by linking the saves to Facebook like some of the games do.
