Apple Releases First Public Beta of OS X El Capitan

Posted July 9, 2015 at 6:51pm by iClarified
Apple has released the first public beta of OS X 10.11 El Capitan for download.

OS X El Capitan refines the Mac experience and improves system performance. Building on last year's landmark release of OS X Yosemite, El Capitan introduces enhancements to window management, built-in apps and Spotlight search, and makes everyday activities—from launching apps to accessing email—faster and more responsive. Metal, Apple’s breakthrough graphics technology, is integrated into El Capitan delivering system-wide performance gains and enabling games and pro apps to tap into the full power of Mac graphics processors.

To get the beta, you must sign up to be part of the Beta Program on the Apple Beta Software Program website.

This is the worst thing Apple has dished in a long time; 6 hours "into the update" I am on the 8th consecutive update to the update... what a joke...

Just signed in on the beta page (I was a tester on Yosemity as well), clicked on enroll your devices, chose OSX and clicked download el capitan. Under the link there is a code to redeem and your set to go. The code redeems automatically and the download starts. I did notice some lag in downloading but that's probably because of huge traffic. Just set it up a moment ago and took a look at Split View and Mission Control. Works very nicely. Gonna check the graphic performance tomorrow. I use the latest Mac Mini so I should notice a difference. Can't wait to see if Apple lives up to their promises.
