iOS Maintains Its Lead in Enterprise but Android is Gaining

The Good Technology Mobility Index Report for Q2 2015 found that while iOS is still the leader in enterprise, it's losing ground to Android.

iOS retained the top spot for device activation as it has in every Mobility Index Report. However, its overall market share dropped for the second straight quarter, falling from 70% to 64%, its lowest showing to date. Both Android and Windows surged with Android growing from 26% to 32% and Windows at 3%. Windows Phone remained unchanged at 1%.

Over the last year, Apple's iPad had dominated in tablets taking 80-90% of activations each quarter. However, Good Technology reports that in Q2 the market shifted and iOS fell from 81% of activations to 64%. Whereas, Android grew from 15% to 25% while Windows surged from 4% to 11%.

"The growth of Windows, which includes both Surface devices and devices from Windows OEMs, was especially impressive given that only two quarters ago Windows made up only 1% of tablets."

iOS continues to outpace Android in regulated industries, such as public sector (79 percent), education (76 percent) and healthcare (70 percent). However, Android has moved ahead of iOS in high tech (53 percent) and made significant gains in energy (48 percent) and manufacturing (42 percent).

You forgot to mention that Android also leads in crashes and malware, and after the falloff of the iPhone 5(c), leads the way in cheaply-made plastic devices.

The 5c review that some say are bad or good outsold the s4 in most areas.

Well... good for it. That means Apple cornered the market for cheaply made plastic junk phones. Not a category I expected nor wish to see them in ever again. When you think Apple, you think the best. Quality. A device that does what it's supposed to when it's supposed to...and the 5(c) was an epic fail in my book.

My employees and I call it the "32-bit piece of shit"....and that's exactly what it is. I hope that if they do a (c) model, this time they use the sabe materials as the other models. With only a smaller screen. That would be a device I would buy QUICKLY!!! I am a huge fan of the smaller screens, the larger ones just aren't practical for me as I don't carry a purse or use a by clip to carry my phone. It goes in my front pocket. Furthermore...my phone is just that...a phone. I don't need a huge screen. When that is needed, I bust out the iPad or MacBook...depending on what I need the bigger screen for.

The 5c isn't junk. Lumia defies junk in its trunk. Apple made it to be a bit more affordable alongside the iPod so not many can be broke while maintaining improvements. When it comes to Apple, anything just works. The 5c wasn't a let down compared to some failures in macs if you look back at it, fail or not.
