AT&T Upgrading Legacy Nation Talk and Family Talk Plans with Unlimited Minutes

AT&T Upgrading Legacy Nation Talk and Family Talk Plans with Unlimited Minutes

Posted September 19, 2015 at 9:19pm by iClarified
AT&T is upgrading many legacy Nation Talk plans, including Family Talk Plans, to unlimited talk -- free of charge. According to many users across the web and many iClarified readers, AT&T has sent out text messages notifying those on older plans that they now have unlimited talk. Note that those on the newer Mobile Share plans already have unlimited talk.

While some have not received text messages, they have noted that if you log on to your AT&T account online, you'll notice that the minute count is listed as "Unlimited."

The change was originally spotted last week, but many believed it was simply an error in AT&T's system. AT&T's text message confirms that this change is permanent and not a glitch. According to reports, AT&T has been upgrading both single lines and Family Talk plans.

While AT&T says you will lose your unlimited minutes if you change your plan, we were able to downgrade our Family Talk plan to the lowest tier (to save money) and still retained the unlimited minutes.

We're not sure what prompted AT&T to make this change, especially since it's pushing users off the legacy Nation Talk plans, but this, in addition to the company's new throttling policy for unlimited data plans, will surely make older AT&T customers happy.

Let us know if you've been upgraded to unlimited talk and what plan you're currently on.

I can confirm that my Family Talk 700 plan (5 lines) has been converted to unlimited. Definitely a good deal, although if they also included unlimited SMS/MMS without the additional $20/mo, it would be a GREAT deal.
