Target has announced that it is now selling the Apple Watch in stores and online.

The retailer is selling about 20 different models of the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport. It also has about 39 strap options, chargers, and AppleCare+ available for purchase.
Apple is increasing the number of retail partners for the Apple Watch ahead of the important holiday shopping season.
Did you honestly expect different places to have different amounts? That's like expecting that Ross ad to trick you into thinking different places will always sell same products with lower price. It can't hurt to wait for price drop anyway.
