These became obsolete once iCloud, Box and onedrive came out. Haven't used my 512GB 3.0 flash drive in a year.

That's what I tried to tell people who wanted OS X on iPad. Still has no point to USB drives.

Try going to 3rd world countries, where internet isnt everywhere. Those files waiting on the cloud wont be accessed so easily. USB drives still have a purpose.

Not really. If you live in a rural a area there is often no internet connectivity or else only cellular which uses precious data. A thumb drive is still very useful.

Because many own apple computers that are using SSD drives and have very little space for storing data. Deals like this are great, when someones looking for one.
