Leaked iPhone 7 and iPhone 5 SE Cases Confirm Rumored New Features? [Video]

Posted March 17, 2016 at 2:52pm by iClarified
Check out this hands-on video from Unbox Therapy with leaked cases allegedly for the iPhone 7 and the rumored 4-inch iPhone 5 SE.

Notably, the case for the iPhone 7 appears to confirm rumors we've posted about the device. The cutout for the camera is significantly larger with a slightly different placement suggesting that perhaps we'll see a dual lens camera. The cutout for the Lightning port is also changed hinting that perhaps Apple could equip the device with a Smart Connector. Finally, the cutout where the headphone jack is placed on the iPhone 6s is smaller and doesn't allow you to insert headphones. This lines up with reports that Apple will drop the headphone jack and offer the iPhone 7 with stereo speakers.

While the iPhone 7 isn't expected until this fall, Apple is believed to be unveiling the iPhone SE on March 21st.

Because lightning port is to provide better sound detail which means that the lightning port is the new audio jack. I would say stupid because there are wireless headphones and maybe (upcoming) earbuds/EarPods, but mainly it's to make the iPhone thinner, but hey, there is a 5se coming out. Looking forward to that.

I doubt they'll include wireless headphones with the phone. They'll just put a lightning plug on the end of the EarPods. And also more than likely include an adapter so you can still use normal headphones. Not that big of a deal if they do that. The only thing that will suck is not being able to charge your phone and listen to music at the same time.

Unless the lighting cable will have a headphone jack build in to it, but yes I agree it's stupid, thinner iPhone means less battery, I prefer double the thickness and a 2 day battery.

It's not a stupid move. More people are using bluetooth headphones nowadays, audiophiles use the lightning port to connect their DAC/Amps. Better sound is accessed through the the lightning port. Dock speakers uses the lightning port. I am not bothered to loose the stereo jack port. Apple is not afraid of change. People will eventually adapt and it will be a norm in the future. Take the usb type c for example. They criticize the new port but now you can see it in most laptops. Take also true tone flash for another example. Samsung has the white and amber flash in their phones. With this move Samshit and the others will follow next. You'll see.

Tbh, i don't really need the headphone jack and so iPhone 7 is kinda of a big deal for me. but i just worried about the new battery capacity and life. If it's smaller, the battery life will be shorten than the iPhone 6/s one. And i think Apple will make a headphone adaptor and sell it separately.

Totally agree with your opinion. Others will follow.

This may sound a bit strange, but with the headphone jack gone replacing it with stereo speakers meaning that it's a less piece for the logic board there, it may make a bit more room for the battery, and maybe the new vibration motor will be make smaller. If the logic board happens to be smaller to, there's a good chance we will get greater battery even wil iOS helping out more than ever since 9.
