OSSIC X Headphones Calibrate to Your Head and Ears to Deliver Amazing 3D Sound [Video]

Posted April 10, 2016 at 4:02pm by iClarified
OSSIC X is the world’s first 3D audio headphone that instantly calibrates to you, increasing your sense of auditory space, and acoustically recreating the way you hear the world everyday.

Developed by OSSIC in San Diego, California, the OSSIC X headphone automatically measures the size of your head and shape of your ears. Using an adaptive algorithm it customizes audio playback for whomever is wearing the headphones. There are four drivers in each ear that can beam sound around your ear, allowing for accurate placement of sound within the 3D sphere around you. Combined with head tracking, sounds appear to come from outside your head and stay fixed in space, enabling a higher sense of acoustic presence.

The headphones will significantly enhance the audio experience for virtual reality, gaming, movies, and music.

OSSIC X FOR VIRTUAL REALITY
In virtual reality, sound is key. With accurate 3D sound we can give a sense of space and direct your attention to elements outside your field of view for a more immersive experience.

OSSIC X FOR GAMING
Having accurate sound in gaming can make or break the experience, allowing you to know what’s going on in the spaces of the game that you can’t see.
● Immerse yourself in the game
● Accurately position sounds for a competitive advantage
● Boomless mic for continued audio communication

OSSIC X FOR MOVIES
Imagine being able to watch any movie on the best speaker setup money can buy, from the comfort of your couch, bed, or anywhere.
● Enjoy any movie theater audio experience from wherever you are.

OSSIC X FOR MUSIC
OSSIC changes the way you listen to music. Imagine being able to listen to any song from your collection on the best speaker setup money can buy, or hear a concert from the best seats in your favorite concert hall.
● Replicate the ideal listening room or speaker setup.

Unless Beats/Apple are already working on something like this for the Beats line this might be a future acquisition for them. To maybe get beats into the gaming headphone market. That's what a lot of these companies are looking for, they create a product then look for a big money buyout for better funding and product development.

Very interesting and I would love a pair; but in a few years time all tablets and mobile phones will not support 3mm. My entire home: deck, basement, living room m, kitchen is wireless or Bluetooth and I would want a pair of headphones where I am not tethered to one location. Hopefully this company gives us a Bluetooth pair

No free shipping was a deal breaker for me. $20 shipping is ridiculous when you are looking at crowdfunding your project. Offering free shipping to your backers should be a given.

That depends. Most people would want noise cancellation. I may not have tried beats, but what if that's the advantage over these new headphones if this doesn't come with them?

Beats are terrible headphones. I've had the Pro headphones for 6 years now, I've had basically all the beats you can name. I just got a pair of m50X from audio Technica for $125 back on Black Friday. I've wasted over $1000 on beats products. Literally terrible

"World' first" is wrong. 3D Sound One already made one months ago, it was also launched and successfully financed on Kickstarter..
