Samsung has officially unveiled the new Galaxy Note 7 featuring a dual-edge curve display, water resistant body, S Pen, iris scanner, and more.

The Galaxy Note7 strikes a balance between work and play, enabling people to achieve more than what they thought possible on a smartphone.

“The Galaxy Note7 combines productivity and entertainment, with strong security features. Powering a robust ecosystem, it is the ideal device for those who want to achieve more in life,” said DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “Life moves faster than ever now so we created the Galaxy Note7 to help users get things done more easily wherever, whenever.”

Here's a look at the features touted by Samsung...

------
Galaxy Note7 S Pen: Quickly and Easily Bring Ideas to Life
The enhanced Galaxy Note7 S Pen is more than just a writing tool – it is the gateway to getting more done efficiently and accurately. Users can bring ideas to life the moment inspiration strikes without unlocking the screen by using Screen off memo and simply pinning the memo to the Always On Display. The S Pen also gives users the ability to easily create and share GIF animations with Smart Select. In addition, the new Air Command functions, including Magnify and Translate, enable users to zoom in on the screen or convert languages with a simple hover of the S Pen. It is even easier to access the best of the S Pen’s creative abilities with Samsung Notes, a new unified app allowing users to jot down handwritten notes, draw, or edit memos from one location.

The new S Pen writes with ease and precision. The smaller 0.7mm tip and improved pressure sensitivity provides a real pen-like experience. With the peace of mind that IP68 water resistant provides, the Galaxy Note7 S Pen lets users jot down their thoughts without interruption, even when the screen gets wet.

Advanced Security: Now in the Blink of an Eye
Samsung understands the importance of keeping content on users’ phone protected. Coupled with Samsung Knox, an industry-leading security platform, the Galaxy Note7 provides heightened security and privacy, with highly advanced biometric authentication, including fingerprint scanner and iris scanning technology. The Galaxy Note7 offers more authentication options that can be used interchangeably depending on how people use their phones, wherever they are, or whatever they are doing.

The Galaxy Note7 instills a new level of user confidence with Secure Folder, a separated folder that adds an extra layer of authentication to keep private and personal information safe. The iris recognition technology will also be used to authenticate secure purchases that are made on Samsung Pay**. The Galaxy Note7 will also support Samsung Pass, bringing authentication such as iris scanning and fingerprint recognition to more apps and services.

I love Apple you know, I have a Macbook Pro, an iphone 5 and 4s, but I am tired of poor battery, running on all plugs for charge, I am collecting the equivalent of all my apps that I used at work (gps, GIS,...) with ios, gotta move to droid...plus I am a designer in my lost time, ipad pro is nice but can't go in my pocket, S-Pen is just what i need to keep in my pocket to keep sketching my ideas on the move!!!!!!

My battery lasts up to nearly 2 days on a single charge. The way your battery drains too easily is games, connection other than wifi, brightness, etc. but there's a reason portable chargers exist, plus I do airdrop iPad Pro drawings to my phone.

I'll move to Note, but will keep my iphone4s beside me to feel those good old days :) while sketching on the move...! and maybe later on I'll definitely remove my second sim and insert it for dual sim in this Note...who knows, you live and you learn !

They're onky getting better because they always wait for something form the iPhone to inspire them. Apple always does something that is competitive and something like no ne else has done.

Like 3D touch that no one uses? 99% of people forget that it's even there lol. Things that I love about my apple products are: iCloud, FaceTime and iMessage. That's their real innovative things. Otherwise Samsung is 70 years forward.

well i think Samsung have raised the par by introducing iris scanner, waterproofing and better displays i guess competition in Android mareket forces manufacturers all go to the favour of the consumer with cutting edge technology and better prices that thing is not happening with apple.

Tell that to the top rated smart watch along with iPad Pro features. The 6s did do something interesting in terms of 3D touch expanding on game features.

Many great features but undo they the point of the screen all the way to the edge. It looks and feels so fragile. I hope apple doesn't go that route. Do love the headphones and other good features. Too bad it's still not iOS.

They didn't and won't do it when they made the screens bigger on the 6 since the 5 so there's no doubt.
