Angry Customer Smashes Over $50,000 Worth of Product in Apple Store [Video]

Posted September 30, 2016 at 4:38pm by iClarified
Check out this video of an angry customer smashing over $50,000 of iPhones and other products in an Apple Store in Dijon, France.

The customer was reportedly upset that Apple refused to honor his warranty for two years as required by EU law. He can be seen calming smashing iPhones with a steel ball in the video below.

After leaving the Apple Store, the customer was detained by mall security and he was eventually taken into police custody.

Take a look at the video footage below!

I'd make him pay for EVERY device that was broken, damaged or otherwise unusable to the Public. I bought my iPhone6 and then switched to the 6+ all with in the 2 years and would expect it to be about $220 trade-in since the Phone is 2 years old.

Maybe that's why it's called a deal. Maybe it's a phone trade-in. Maybe the phones released a year ago are getting cheaper because new models.

So many angry people on this board and in the Apple Store. If he smashed 15 phones and one MacBook Air, the actual loss to Apple was about 15 x $500 + (1 x $1000) — or about $8500, which is a long way from $50,000. Exaggerative headlines are not journalism.

Actually he smashed more than just those iphones and the macbook air. Look at the background and you'll see 4 smashed imacs as well so apparently the guy started smashing things way before the video was recorded.

They have to prove the JB was the cause the of problem. Just like when you modify your vehicle. If they can not prove that your modifications caused the problems they have to fix it. The documents can claim what ever they want, . They have to legally fix a vehicle , if they can not prove your modifications caused the problems . They would and should loose a court case if they can prove it.

I disagree with you. Go ahead and call me a sheep, but I actually once tried ApleCare with a bricked phone replacement and it al, worked fine. If Apple could care less, it defeats the purpose of having a Genius Bar to begin with, or to be clear, Apple employees who help walkthrough the way their products are used. I even once tried to reset my security questions and even that worked out to and if it wasn't for scheduling a call from Apple support, I would have been f**ked from spending money on my account for the rest of my life.

The fact this continued what appears for some length of time is bizarre. There is a time to be polite and not polite. They security should have clearly intervened, unless the person appears to be known and bitter.

No biggie, either 1) the store has insurance, 2) they aren't broken and/or unrepairable. If the store burned down, it would not matter. Apple has billions.
