Amazon today announced the launch of HBO and Cinemax on Amazon Channels.

Prime members can now sign up now for a monthly HBO subscription for $14.99 per month. Cinemax on Amazon Channels is also available today for $9.99 per month.

Their selection of blockbuster movies is unsurpassed, including hits like Batman vs. Superman, The Revenant, and Deadpool. I'd rather use the HBO app directly. I can pay the same price for it without subscribing to anything else or even having satellite or cable tv at home. I see no purpose in this, unless you prefer the Amazon player but why?

Well, it's different than HBO Now because you don't have to DirectTV or Dash satellite or cable subscriber.

Way overpriced. Until streaming model define price and structure, torrents and usenet will be way more affordable. If people want to watch different channels they would have to shell out couple hundred dollars in today's environment due to complicated contracts, licensing, copyrights. Ridiculous how legal system throttles technological advances.
