Chamberlain Smart Hub Brings Apple HomeKit Support to Almost Any Existing Garage Door Opener

Chamberlain has announced two new products that bring Apple HomeKit support to nearly any garage door opener.

By July, Chamberlain will launch the Smart Garage Hub with support for HomeKit, a device that will allow users to open, close or check the status of their garage door, and turn MyQ- connected lights on or off using the Home app via their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple Watch, or by using Siri. Also, by April, Chamberlain plans to launch the MyQ Home Bridge which adds HomeKit to existing MyQ enabled garage door openers.

MyQ Home Bridge
For current MyQ smart phone control users, this simple device adds HomeKit compatibility to your existing MyQ-connected devices. This includes MyQ Garage (1st Generation), any Chamberlain Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, or any MyQ Enabled Garage Door Openers that use an Internet Gateway.

For anyone wanting to add smart phone control to their existing garage door opener, this easy upgrade adds the power of MyQ and Apple Homekit technology to virtually any brand of garage door opener. An active home Wi-Fi connection that reaches the garage is required.
