iFixit has posted its teardown of the new Microsoft Surface laptop. It did not go well.

"The Surface Laptop is not a laptop. It’s a glue-filled monstrosity. There is nothing about it that is upgradable or long-lasting, and it literally can’t be opened without destroying it."

If you're looking to purchase a tablet/laptop you may want to take this into consideration. The new 10.5-inch iPad Pro only scored 2/10 on iFixit's teardown but that's still better than 0!

Final Thoughts
● This laptop is not meant to be opened or repaired; you can’t get inside without inflicting a lot of damage.
● The CPU, RAM, and onboard storage are soldered to the motherboard, making upgrades a no-go.
● The headphone jack, while modular, can only be accessed by removing the heat sink, fan, display, and motherboard.
● The battery is difficult and dangerous to replace, giving the device a limited lifespan.

Ugh, and here we have Micro$oft trying its hand at luring people into buying this shit... This is one joke of a laptop, macOS is one damn sturdy OS, Windows on the other hand is mamooshka. Nice teardown and heads up!

mamooshka (it shows up as mamushka) as in the dance from The Adam's Family?

"The surface laptop is not a laptop!" I couldn't agree more. It's like it was meant to be a computer that only the company could get involved with based on build quality and deciding what consumers should use in the OS. Talk about a sellout. Even users considered staying away from this when they heard that Edge was the default browser to only be used.
