New Apple TV Will Require 15Mbps Internet Connection for 4K Streaming

The new Apple TV will require a 15Mbps Internet Connection to stream 4K video, according to references discovered in an recently leaked iOS 11 GM.

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith has posted a screenshot of the reference on Twitter which reads:

"NetworkNo4KForYouSubtitle" => "Your Internet connection speed might have dropped below 15Mbps, there could be a problem with your home network."

Troughton-Smith also discovered a list of color profiles supported by the new Apple TV which include:
● Dolby Vision
● HDR-10 4:2:0
● HDR-10 4:2:2
● HDR-10 4:4:4
● YCbCr 4:2:0
● YCbCr 4:2:2
● YCbCr 4:4:4

I expected 4K to hit internet speed harder... Nice! I've got moar bandwidth while watching some movie. No a bad idea getting an AirPort Extreme, instant internet boost.

Haha, that speed requirement will exclude pretty much 99.9% of all Australian home broadband connections!

same here in Canada - besides, in canada we rarely receive what we pay for lol not to mention anything above 1080p is over kill

Speak for yourself. I'm Canadian and stream 4K Netflix continuously. Most people in Canada have over 15Mbps, are you still using dial-up??? I run 150Mbps and so does everyone I know.

I'm from Windsor, Canada and we don't have anything over 15 mbps. Which part of Canada are you from? Also, which service provider do you have to get 150 mbps, maybe I can get on to their services!
