I still have my seagate drive, going on 15 years now, it still works an is still in its original carton, never used

Seagate can come out with any size they want - they don’t actually need it to hold data. Nothing they make works anymore anyway. Why not come out with an Infinity Disk? “Store unlimited data!”

Every Seagate drive Ive purchased has died within a couple of months, including one two months ago on sale at Amazon, 4TB. Disposal external drives are not a good idea.

Have you heard of spinrite? When you first get the hard drive, run spinrite on it and see how good the hard drive is. If it's bad, send it back

To be honest, you really shouldn't need to. You should be able to have faith in the product that you purchase...
