Since Steve left us, i think its time for apple to abandon the phone....never mind touch ID. They lost their Mojo in the creative department, sorry to say.

It would have been nice to make the Apple logo the Touch ID but they were rushing the job and there was so much online criticism about having the logo AND the Touch ID below that. They should keep working on the Touch ID on the screen. Don’t give up.

Sometimes leaving stuff from today in the past for unknown experiences isn't easy, Touch ID is a very well implemented feature, fast and easy to use. Face ID is merely an announcement as of now, has to be tried to have the 'thumbs up'... I'll try to stay impartial here and actually test the feature myself to comment on it tho.

Personally, I think it's a unwise decision to get rid of Touch ID. I think it's very good. While there might be something better in the future, it's clearly not ready to have other to replace it. I don't think Face ID is ready yet. It's nice to have both.

Just wait to medical technology advances so people can determine their childs hand sizes. Will they make 18" iphone then.

The no touch ID IS STUPID.(they should make a device that supports it.. However the idea is to make phones cost more money, . Touch id is cheaper technology, and they will make less money because the supply cost cheaper. They also most likely need the full panels for HD SCREENS. What happens when people require eye surgery"s will it still work when you use it. THE FACT only person can use the phone is a joke. The devices should allow to people to have use of the feature..

I don’t think there will be three iPhones next year I think it will be 8S and plus with the iPhone X design/features moved to those phones with extra’s, so it makes sense they are abandoning Touch ID .

something about differentiation? Is that like "we had it first and now everyone is copying us, so it's not kool anymore." Yes, fingerprint scanner caught on because of Apple AND because people really liked/embraced it. Let's see if people feel the same way about the facial rec stuff.

....remember the one Samsuck introduced on its phones? Iris scanner...whatever happened to that? Half-baked innovation faded into obscurity.

They actually still have it in the new S8's and Note 8. So not faded and works pretty good.
