In a recent interview with livemint, Apple SVP Eddy Cue vehemently disagrees that the company's innovation has slowed over the past ten years.

There’s a been perception that the pace of innovation and the pace at which Apple has come out with game-changing, breakthrough products has slowed somewhat. What do you have to say about that?

No way! First of all, the iPhone is 10 years old. That is the last decade. The iPad came after that and the Watch came after that. So, I disagree vehemently with that and I think we’ve been incredibly innovative. That doesn’t even take into account the work that has been done on the Mac, iOS and MacOS, from that standpoint where I think we’ve led the market. When you think of the products that we’ve built over time, you own a lot of them. And you just assume that every year was a new product. But it wasn’t. You can’t do revolutionary new products, every two months or six months or whatever. They take time.

Eddy Cue also discusses the company's plans for Apple Pay in India, how it plans to expand in the country and the similarities between Steve Jobs and current CEO Tim Cook.

'Vehemently' = Drama Queen language. iOS 11 broke most of my favorite apps -- the ones I paid for, and the ones for which I went with Apple to get in the first place. The latest iTunes abandoned iOS apps, so I lost all the ones I kept in storage, rather than on my device, because I only used them occasionally. There was no advance warning that I saw, and no way to go back to iOS 10, which was the last one that actually worked. So, after several iPhones, iPads and Macs, I am now completely finished with Apple. No, sorry, I am 'Vehemently' finished with Apple.

I think with the rate of technological advancements these days we’ve become desentized, when the iPhone debuted the rate of technology going forward was slow so it was more of a big deal; there still are many advancements but I dont think we appreciate them as much we just have a expectation now that new things will just come every so often.

The interview shows how Apple’s management has become disconnected from their users. They have fallen prey to group think- ie Our stock price is high so based on this evidence then what we are doing is great.

In the future iOS and android will probably end up with the same features. As an Apple user I have to admit that Apple takes a lot of ideas from other companies. I would say they are not innovating anymore but they know how to polish a feature. They shouldn’t boast anything about innovating but rather stating they will do things right not first. But isn’t the latest iOS 11 fiasco , Apple is looking very unapple it’s sad to say. I’m hoping they are working hard to fix. I felt ios 11 offered nothing but problems. I can’t even remember if there was any additional feature added besides visual changes. This is my sneaky suspicion is that Apple is drinking their own kool aid now. They will say they are innovative internally and discount any external criticism. I’m more worried about them removing features and calling it brave. Honestly I think nowadays the belief that the customers don’t know what they want and you have to tell them is not true anymore. It’s possible that the smartphone has reached is limitation very soon.

Of course he would say so, what do you expect to hear from an Apple's senior executive, otherwise? Duhhh! But is a real thing that innovation from Apple has gone, at least not what it used to be!
