Microsoft today unveiled a new Surface Book 2 that the company says is 'twice as powerful as the new MacBook Pro'. The new Surface Book 2 aims to offer the power of laptop, versatility of a tablet, and freedom of a portable studio.

Today, we’re excited to introduce the latest in the Surface family: Surface Book 2 – a powerhouse laptop with amazing graphics and up to 17 hours of battery life. Now available in a 13” and 15” option, Surface Book 2 is the most powerful Surface we’ve ever built. With the latest 8th Generation Intel Dual-Core and Quad-Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, Surface Book 2 has up to five times the graphics performance of the original Surface Book and is twice as powerful as the new MacBook Pro.

Additionally, Microsoft says the new Surface Book 2 provides up to 70% more battery life than the latest Macbook Pro with up to 17 hours of video playback.

The Surface Book 2 laptops start at $1499 and will be available for pre-order on November 9th in the US, with the 13” also available in additional markets.

Look people, initially there’s just one problem with the surface, aside from the fact that it has an identity crises - it runs on windows. Other than that there are some likable things about it.

Dunno... Windows gives me the shivers, I've got a PC because some programs don't work so well on VMware or boot camp. Think I'll pass.

This is so much better than Apple's so called innovations. Really all we need these days. Install VMWare and add OSX on it and you are golden.
