Starting with iOS 16, you can finally change your lock screen on iPhone! It's now possible to create multiple lock screens, personalized with custom wallpaper, fonts, colors, and even widgets.
Here's how...
Press and hold your current lock screen wallpaper to bring up the lock screen switcher.
You can tap the Customize button to change Apple's default, or you can add a new one.
Tap the blue plus icon to create a new lock screen.
Choose a wallpaper. You can select from a variety of featured wallpapers, or tap the photos icon to choose an image from your photos library.
Once you've selected your wallpaper, pinch to scale and position it on the iPhone's lock screen, if necessary.
Tap the widget area above the time to select a linear widget.
Tap on the time to customize the font and color.
Finally, tap on the lower widget area to add widgets below the time. There are numerous lock screen widgets to choose from, including widgets from calendar, weather, clock, stocks, battery, fitness, home, news, reminders, and other installed apps.
You can choose to apply a filter to your lock screen by swiping left or right. Additionally, you can enable or disable depth effects on supporting wallpapers. Once you're happy with your selections, tap the Add button at the top right.
You'll be prompted to apply the design to both the lock screen and home screen, or you can choose to have a separate wallpaper for your home screen.
If you choose "customize home screen", you can keep your original wallpaper and add a blur, or you can select a color, gradient, or photo for your home screen wallpaper.
Tap Done to finish, then select your new lock screen from the switcher to make it active.
To switch between lock screens, press and hold your lock screen wallpaper to bring up the switcher, then select an alternative design.
To delete a lock screen, press and hold your lock screen wallpaper to bring up the switcher, then swipe up on the lock screen you'd like to delete.
Press the Trash icon button, then tap Delete This Wallpaper to delete the wallpaper.
Focus helps you concentrate on a task by minimizing notifications, or distractions. You can set up a Focus to temporarily silence all notifications, or allow only specific notifications (ones that apply to your task, for example). By linking a Focus to your Lock Screen, you have access to the features of the Focus when you use that Lock Screen.
Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap Focus near the bottom of the wallpaper to see the Focus options—for example, Do Not Disturb, Personal, Sleep, and Work. Select a Focus, then tap the Close button.
It is still possible to customize your lock screen in iOS from the Settings app. To access lock screen settings, tap to launch the Settings from your Springboard and choose Wallpaper from the main menu. You'll be shown a representation of your iPhone lock screen and iPhone home page. Tap Customize under the lock screen interface to create your custom lock screen.
