i dont understand why IOS is the only platform from whatsapp where you have to PAY for it.. on all other platforms its free as for FB acquiring it i think they should try to stay independent

You have to pay to be a developer for iOS. I don't think you need to pay on other platforms.

You should really read WhatsApp terms. iPhone users have to pay 1 time for the App, every other platform don't, but they have to pay 1$ a year after the first year of use. http://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/general/20965922
