Its not that easy. Apple can't just take its tape outs from Samsung and go to TSMC and manufacture the chips. They need to be redesigned! More likely that TSMC got A7/A7x SoC orders. Swift core + PowerVR Rouge GPU. BTW. Remember that A6 test wafers was ordered at TSMC jun 2010? These was meant to be for iPad3. It was a disaster = Apple had to use the panic chip A5X. A chip that would never have been used during Steve's period. Tim accepts half assed product. Steve didn't.
