Why don't all of you read AT&T's response? They're saying you can use FaceTime for FREE over WiFi. However, if you use it over 3G then you are using bandwidth on AT&T's data network, and you need to pay for that. SO YOU IDIOTS, USE IT OVER WIFI!! What makes you think you're entitled to a handout? And no, I don't work for AT&T, nor do I like their outrageous data plans, but fair-is-fair.

Except that so far with TMobile you'd be limited to Edge speeds as the iphone is not compatible with their 3G.....

Verizon is making you loose your data unlimited plan as soon as you get a new subsidized phone. Unless the FCC steps in and says the the big boys you cant force people out of their data unlimited plans until they decide to leave or cancel their plan this is how it's going to be!

They said they've been offering FaceTime for several years?! It's only been available for just over 2 years! Can people not just boycott AT&T? They'll soon change their t&c's :-)

You bastard FUCKS. All legal jargon and patronizing condescension aside, this response amounts to nothing more than a veiled admission of something most of us already realize: AT&T does not care about being liked, fair or right, so long as they're making money. The issue you dance around and cannot argue against is this: Data is data, regardless how much is used, at what rate it's being used, or what app is using it. Data usage is all the same and AT&T should be blind, deaf, and dumb to how you use the mobile data you've paid (an extremely generous amount) for. To assert that you have the right to force different terms on a user depending upon how he or she uses something they've already paid for is absurd. Clearly, AT&T has reached a point of such confidence in their ability to treat customers poorly and still make money that not even their PR department bats an eye at responding to criticism with an eloquent "Fuck you". Until someone or something stands up to this bullshit, they are creating a dangerous precedent for other wireless carriers and businesses. The longer this goes on, we continue to lose power as consumers.

I miss the days when companies cared about the customer along with making money, and not just caring about solely making money. When is enough!?!?!?

I saw that T-Mobile is releasing an unlimited data plan with no speed cap, I'll have to check how their network is around my areas, because I'm tired of always worrying what AT&T or Verizon will make us pay for next and Sprint just doesn't have solid coverage around me.

Technically AT&T is only doing this to make consumers spend more money like they always have done for many years. My opinion if the device is offering something new that the hardware is already build in theirs no reason to charge extra when the consumer is already willing to pay the price of the device
