We have posted a video demonstrating how to unlock your iPhone using SAM.

The unlock works on any iPhone and any firmware as long as its jailbroken. It was discovered late last week by Loktar_Sun and uses a series of steps performed in Sam Bingner's SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) app to unlock a specific SIM.

Iclarified can my phone be unlock for more than one sim at the same time?

Yes it can, you just have to save the unlock tickets for each sim. There is a tutorial on the site somewhere.

So can anyone answer this: if I do this on 5.0.1 can I upgrade throught iTunes to 5.1 and NOT lose my unlock or do I have to wait for an untether JB every time?

I did and it remained the same got locked on upgrading to 5.0 iPhone 4 user.

Dont try downloading SAM cos it wont work for some reason. I downloaded ACUtil in the sam repo and when the text scrolls it says installing sam. i tried downloading sam for 2 days but that way worked

Can anyone tell me if this video will help me to unlock a 3GS on 5.0.1 with modem firmware 05.16.05? If yes, why am I getting an error when I am connecting to iTunes saying that a compatible SIM is required to unlock?

This is all well n good but non of it is possible until bingner server is back online. I cant download it from cydia because it says "the requested mods cannot be applied due to required dependancies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed" Has any got any idea when it will be fixed?

question this unlock is only for one sim card if i switch sim card i have to unlock again?

Yes, but you can save your unlock ticket for future use of the unlocked sim.

My question for iclarified is same as Joe... Can we upgrade to 5.1 the regular after we save this SAM procedure or wait til there is Jailbreak again?

Thanks for the clarification iClarified.... The only question is how is this done?... the backup and all is done- how to switch to another SIM and switch back to an earlier SIM and use the backup?

Once I connect to iTunes for the second time and disable Sam, iTunes shows wrong sim inserted ??

Yep, now after a insert the new sim, do I have to select the carrier of the sim or the carrier I have the phone locked to??

It works now, but if I use AT&T back again I'll have to reset back . It doesn't keep the unlock. I use AT&T and tmobile. I guess that app needs an update!!

If I jailbreak to do this, unlock my phone, then restore the latest firmware to unjailbreak - Will my unlock remain? From my understanding, this method exploits a logical flaw in Apple's unlocking/activation server... Therefore these changes are permanent? Is this true or false? Thanks if anyone knows!

You need to save your unlock ticket for each SIM card you unlock. That way you can continue to unlock the SIM even if Apple closes the exploit. Instructions are on this site.
