Reuters Confirms 4-Inch Screen for Next Generation iPhone

Reuters is confirming a WSJ report that the next generation iPhone will feature a 4-inch screen.

The new iPhone screens will measure 4 inches from corner to corner, one source said. That would represent a roughly 30 percent increase in viewing area, assuming Apple keeps other dimensions proportional. Apple has used a 3.5-inch screen since introducing the iPhone in 2007.

According to the site, early production of the new display has begun at LG, Sharp, and Japan Display. It's thought that all three suppliers will get production orders from Apple as early as June.

The new iPhone is expected begin production in August.

4.5" would be the sweet spot. A 4" screen once again shows how Apple has fallen behind its competitors. I'll wait, but if it really is 4"...I'm jumping ship and moving on to Android phones. I'll still have an iOS in the form of the iPad mini though.

I'm a newcomer to the iPhone scene but I really like the size just as is...but if they're going taller the might as well go wider too. As another poster said, just don't go 'Note' on us. Don't want a tablet for a phone.

They really should just make the next iPhone different size :current size, 4,5 inches also 7 inch iPad let people choose what they feel comfortable with , why do you thing the iPad has been so successful its everything you love about and iPhone just bigger.
