An activated sim card still won't work. The phone's IMEI will be in their system as being stolen.

Don't be stupid......just get the stolen phone.....get an activated sim card and put it in....this it.....of course if you are gsm....

Should have been done long time ago by all the providers for all phones possible in collaboration with the makers of the phones, somehow making stolen phones useless in and out of country. Bad ESN is not always a stolen phone, sometimes it is because of bills not paid.

Iclarified get your facts straight you guys put it wont be usable by any carrier in the picture it say's only applies to at&t!

No more eBay / Craigslist .. I won't even trust the owner to sell me one he could just report it

Well I didn't steal it. I found it on the ground at the supermarket. Figure I'll give it to my kid for YouTube shit. Guess I'm screwed now. But guess what???
JAILBREAK!!!!
DacksMac - July 6, 2012 at 11:27pm
It will go off the serial so jailbreak won't work
SuperNerd - July 7, 2012 at 3:57am
Im working on a way to spoof the serial number right now. By the time AT&T launches their blocking service, i will have instructions over youtube. And then you can steal all the phones you want. Just try not to yank anybodys finger off. You could get 25 years. Which equals no apple products for you.

LOL. Yeah... you need to rewrite the IMEI which is illegal. Plus, the EIR may as well be centralized. Most european countries have opted-in, it's about time US catches on. If centralized, this means anywhere around the world the phone will be blocked. So the stupid ass idea of selling it overseas may get you in trouble once the guy comes after you. Plain and simple, carriers should have processes in place to transfer ownership of the phones for legit sales. But guess what? they don't want to...they want you to shell out more hard earned cold cash for their brand new bling bling. They always try to do the minimum. An EIR cost $$$ to buy and run. *sigh* Greed...

What happens if someone sells you a phone then later reports it stolen
