Is it just me who has an issue with the iPhone/ iPod syncing cables where they break on the ends and eventually just stop working.. Why don't they fix this?

What signals we have in 9 prins connector?
For USB 4 pins,an other 5 for audio ,device detection and video signals?

How cares how many pins it has? All we know is that existing connectors will be obsolete.
