Sharp is showing off its new IGZO displays at IFA 2012 Berlin, reports 9to5Mac. Apple is expected to use this display technology in its future devices, according to numerous reports.

The screens can be used with a bezel under 2mm allowing for more compact devices. They consume 1/5 to 1/10 the power of a a-Si display meaning more battery life or smaller batteries. The display also offers "smooth touch operation with low level of noise" providing more precise input and accurate touch operations.

Sharp says full production of its IGZO panels will begin by the fourth quarter of this year.

SAMAPPLE (Sumsung) or anybody else can support the amount of OLED that apple needs. It's not about the money!! Apple needs 100 plus million displays in one year and nobody can support it! When you only sell 30 million galaxy S3 if even that in one year then you can support having OLED. Once they can support to make 100 plus million OLED screens then apple will go to OLED and by that time the OLED screens would be way better anyways
