I have a 3GS with 4.2.1. I want version 6.1.0. I've downloaded the newest iTunes and I 'Check for Update' but it says that 4.2.1 is the current version. What do I do?

Must be iPhone 3G and not 3GS.

Well, after 3 hours of download, it ended up that it is not compatible with my iphone..... Weird.... i had to download using itunes..... why is this happening????

Hello, My 3GS is on 5.1.1. As the instructions says, I have to be on 6.0 to goto 6.1. Could you pls tell me how to upgrade to 6.0? Thankyou.

No Need to go to 6.0, you can directly update to 6.1 on Iphone 3GS, I have done the same yesterday evening only.

Thanks. I have downloaded 6.0 yesterday. Now I will have to download 6.1. Btw do I have to create a custom firmware with sn0wbreeze to preserve my baseband? Coz my phone is unlocked. (not factory unlocked)

if is unlocked with ipad baseband use sn0wbreeze to put stock firmware after this u have to unlock it again redsn0w is making SEMI-tethered jailbreak so u must "boot now" every time u switch off your device asigurari_rca_online@yahoo.com

I tried download the 4.1 (3GS) in my computer but after the instalation I saw that the icon wans't in the paste. Is there a problem with this firmware. If someone could answer me I would thank.

Is there a way for me to Jailbreak my old iPhone 3G that is running 4.2.1 (8C148). I gave it to my BLIND daughter to use as an iPod and she really likes it but iTunes won't let me update to any iOS past this so I thought if I could jailbreak it then it would be better for her. I can't afford to get her a new iPod now. Thanks for any help in advance.
