Hi.. I am using an iPhone 3G. I updated my FW to 4.2.1 (8C148) from iTunes directly and now I need to JB it. I don\'t have to worry about unlocking. Just the JB! My Modem FW is 05.15.04. Do I still need to do the SHIFT+RESTORE thing to JB or I can just directly go ahead to REDSNOW and do the JB. Kindly reply ASAP! I can\'t live without JBing my phone.. Thanks.. Hadi.

I think you should be able to just go to redsn0w and JB your phone. And as always: If some goes wrong just restore to the stock firmware. You don\'t even need a modified one, because you don\'t need the unlock.

HELP!! I did step 2, shift restored to the 4.2.1. Now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and requires an AT&T sim card. This just made my iphone 3g useless. Please help!

I am new to this, but I was able to jailbreak and unlock my 3G a couple of weeks ago when I got it (was wunning 4.1 BB 5.14). It now runs 4.1 BB 5.13 because I have the BL 5.08. Will I always be able to unlock/jailbreak because of the BL version? Should I upgrade to 4.2 for the features or leave everything as it is? Any help is appreciated.

I am currently running ios 4.1 on my iphone 3g and it is real slow. Would there be an unlock with any 3.x.x FWs? Would it be possible to downgrade the FW later?
