Broken iPhone Silent Switch Bypass
Saturday, 5th July 2008, 04:07 pm
This is a solution for regaining your ringtones and system sounds for those with a broken iPhone silent switch.

First, to regain your system sounds install the "Silent Switch Bypass" from the iClarified repository. To find instructions on adding this source to your Installer app follow this tutorial.

The bypass was created by XianLi and modifies your SystemSoundBehaviours plist.

Next, to regain your Ringtones all you have to do is install VideosTone. You can find instructions on how to do this here

Finally, for more discussion on this issue, check the Hackint0sh thread here

Hey Ricky if you grab this file http://pownce.com/download/134141/SystemSoundBehaviour.plist and drop it into your /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.Framework/ directory, using Cyberduck or WinSCP. Then install MiVTones and enable it, then you should get the Video playing with audio as your ringtone. Hope this helps

Looks like the issues was with MiVTones, and not the plist fix. Updated to the latest MiVTones this AM and its working like a dream.

Yeah the old fix seems to be broken in 2.0. I've tried changing every setting in SystemSoundBehavious.plist and nothing turns the ringer back n anymore.
