64GB iPhone 4 Engineering Prototypes Being Sold in Hong Kong?

64GB iPhone 4 Engineering Prototypes Being Sold in Hong Kong?

iPhone 4 "Engineering Prototypes" with 64GB of storage space are being sold in Hong Kong's grey market.

According to Unwire.hk, this suspicious 64GB model has started selling in Sin Tak, the greatest grey market in Hong Kong, and the sellers claimed that these are engineered models and available in small quantity. Interestingly, the back of the phone states iPhone XXGB! That reminds us the leaked prototype last year, the one Gizmodo bought it. It also states the Model no. as XXXXX, and the FCC ID as BCG-XXXXXX. On the screen, you can see is indeed a 64GB capacity and the model is 995-6049LL. And the phone is not locked!

It's unclear if these are really prototypes or a scam by the seller.

Couldn't agree more 32gb is not enough for me, I'm constantly deleting items to make room for new. The iPhone is supposed to save you from carrying multiple devices, the memory needs to be increased to reflect this.

I had a look at the aformentioned phones yesterday in Sham Shui Po which is one of th biggest area in HK wher they sell almost anything be it real or fake. The problem is that although they look like the real thing, they are in fact so sluggish and inferior to the apple iphone in many ways that i could entertain one myself. They are also selling copies of branded high end headphones and copies of other branded phones. The copy iphone 4's are selliing for 700hk dollars which is just less than 100US.

You don't need 64gb in a phone. The phone is for calling people. If you want an MP3 buy a 300 gb ipod.

Try putting in a couple large apps & games, a GPS app like TomTom, a game or two like Myst & Riven, a few movies, some pictures, all things Apple likes to show their product is good for, and you'll be surprised just how quickly that 64 gig that once looked so huge now isn't looking quite so enormous anymore.

As for your iPod suggestion, well, it's a good one... if only Apple sold a 300G iPod. Right now the largest one they sell is 160 gig. I know, because I have one. And I also know that at this moment, it now has slightly less than 2 gig free on it. That 160 gig that once looked so huge and impossible to fill, now has me wondering what I'm gonna do in a month or two :)

Your phone might e just for calling people. Mine is for calling people, listening to music, watching videos, playing games, satellite navigation and many many other things.

sorry but that is one of the dumbest statements I've read... the iphone 4 is more than just a 'phone' and 64gb of memory would certainly come in handy at this point.

32 gig really not enough??? I bet these people have the 64g ipad also. I can see a 64gig phone being usefull if you had no ipad. Anyone willing to buy one of these already has an ipad most likely.

32gb is enough, but not nearly ideal. I think if need 128gb before I stopped cramped.

They really need to provide a 64gb model of the iPhone 5. The 32gb limit is the biggest pain in the arse with my current iPhone.
