Apple Acquires AirDrop Trademark From Urban Airship

Apple has acquired the trademark for AirDrop from Urban Airship, according to documents published by the US Patent & Trademark Office.

Patently Apple has reprinted the request which shows the Legal Transfer between Urban Airship & Apple. You can see it below.

AirDrop was a service that helped developers promote their applications by making it easier to distribute apps to friends, fans, and reviewers. Once you uploaded your application to AirDrop, you could create custom redeem codes and links to share and distribute.

It's unclear how much Apple paid Urban Airship to obtain the trademark.
