Verizon CFO Fran Shammo hinted that the next iPhone may be released in Q4 2012 during a conference call to discuss its Q2 2012 performance, reports The Verge.
When asked what might have held customers back from upgrading their devices in Q2, Shammo said that "of course there's always that, uh, rumor mill out there with a new phone coming out there in the fourth quarter, so people may be waiting." While there's a chance that he was referring to the next Nexus phone, this felt more like a thinly-veiled reference to the oft-rumored "new iPhone."
Most rumors have suggested Apple will release the next iPhone around September; however, that may just be wishful thinking. Apple could announce the iPhone in September for release in October.
Apple only did that (announcing the last iPhone in Sept with a release in Oct) because of equipment supply problems. It's more likely they'd try to shift back to their previous schedule (not completely, but partially).
What happened to your "so called August announcement?!??"... No one knows . Why if you hear something is it automatically considered a rumor?
The iPhone 5 may already be released. What? Where?!
Clearly you don't understand the concept of a rumour. Second, iClarified never claimed August release. Know Your Mobile did. I personally enjoy reading the rumours. If you don't, then don't read them.
A rumor shouldn't get repeated on a so called decent "Apple news site" just because a CEO reiterates the idea that maybe it might be released in Q4.
The next thread should say "worlds smartest CEO discovers that Christmas is actually in December?!"
