iPhone 5 to Debut in September, Followed By Tweaked iPad, iPad Mini?

Apple will debut the iPhone 5 in September followed by a tweaked new iPad and iPad mini, according to a KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo report relayed by MacRumors.

iPhone 5 to debut in September. But due to in-cell touch panel and casing yield rate limits, ability to offset older models' shipments decrease will be moderate.

The tweaked new iPad and iPad mini are expected later in the month. Sales of the iPad mini are expected at 1.8 million in the third quarter and 13 million in the fourth.

Though shipments of iPad mini's components will start in August, the new iPad line will end production, ready for transition to a modified New iPad line. As such, component shipments will drop in August as iPad mini's components shipments growth will be offset. On a side note, the modified New iPad shares the same exterior as the original model, but contains modifications to correct its thermal dissipation problem and lower-cost components.

Kuo also predicted a new iPod touch and iPod nano; as well as, a new Retina Display MacBook Pro and updated iMac during the September/October timeframe.

Ah, now that Steve Jobs is gone, we're now reverting to the same "New product of the month" mindset that every other tech company embraces.

I'm thinking of upgrading my iPhone 2 to the iPhone 3G, should I wait, or should I upgrade to the iPhone 4 ?

The 4 isn't such a big jump as 5 should be, but I don't think the 3G is even an option (unless you buy it on eBay). The 4/4S has Siri, MUCH better graphics, a faster processor, etc. The 5 has 4G LTE, a larger screen size, and multiple other improvements. Sounds like it's worth the extra $100.

If you can wait 2-3 months, wait for the new one. The older the version of an iPhone you buy, the sooner it will not be supported (firmware upgrades, new apps, etc.). If you can't wait, and price is no object, at least go with the 4S. If you can wait and can't afford the New iPhone, let the new version come out in the next couple of months and then get a discounted iPhone 4 or 4S

This guy has no clue. He also said that they were going to refresh the iTouch and nano in the same month. Who in their right mind would refresh 90% of their peoducts in the same month. Who except for the ultra rich could possibly buy them all? Apple has been at this game for far too long to make such an error.

Everything sounded believable until the part where another MacBook pro retina display will be released soon. -____-
