The cities are: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Dallas and Washington, D.C., notes AllThingsD.
Before the Galaxy launched, 8 key markets emerged as the primary source of Apple's advance in preference; Since the launch of the Galaxy line, the gap between Apple and Samsung has diminished slightly among these target markets.
Pre Galaxy, Samsung was 17.5% behind Apple in consumer preference. Post Galaxy, Samsung closed the gap by 2.5%. Samsung made up the most ground in Philadelphia but lost significant ground in Boston.

No surprise there. Those 8 markets include the US's largest metropolitan cities. I bet nearly all of the major electronics manufacturers have identified those same markets as strategic areas.
