Microsoft Mocks MacBook Air, Says It's as Useful as a 'Hat for Your Cat' [Video]

Microsoft mocks the MacBook Air in its latest Surface Pro 4 ad saying the notebook is as useful as a 'hat for your cat'.

With a detachable keyboard, pen, touchscreen, and full Office, the Surface Pro 4 is the one for you.

Take a look at the ad below...

Surface Pro 4 is the one for me

If Apple release OS X for all people then gamers, game designer, graphics designers, 3D Artiat and custom build PC people all leave Windows completely. But apple holding OS X themselves to give the best companion of Harare and software to their customer. Only issue with Apple is they don't offer customising option for iMac with processor, graphics card, ram. I hope they will release this feature this year

The design of the iMac is only to be an all-in-one, what you bought is what you get. If you want customizations why not get an entry level mac Pro? You can tinker the insides of how you want it. In Mac you get best of both worlds running windows via bootcamp for your games and mac OSX for the serious stuff without sacrificing hardware and software issues. I know not most of us are computer geniuses to setup a windows rig like the pros do. That is where the problem comes, if you setup a rig without knowing everything you always end up getting an error, crashes and slow-down. I know some Windows fanboys here say they know everything about their system but is not. Just people pretending to know everything. Be real guys!

Another free Apple ad from Microsoft. Apple doesn't care whatever they say and it gives them free publicity. Keep trying Microsoft!

It took a few years for Nokia to die because of this. It's going to take a lot to do the same here.

If you are on top everybody will mock you because they want to prove that they are better than you. That is what Apple's competitors are doing now and it makes their product look more cheaper and tacky because they cannot show the true potential of their product and they do that by mocking. If you notice Apple's ads they showcase their product on real-life uses. That makes everyone buy their products even whatever others say bad about Apple, it will still sell to many. I will still not buy the Surface pro because they use a tacky 1024 pen pressure stylus and they are asking for the same price as the Mac?! A 1024 stylus is a thing of the past to us graphic designers. We use Wacom and Apple pencil's 2048 styli. This Microsoft ad is bullsh*t! Nothing new or original.

Like it was said already when you dont trust your own products you criticize the competitor, Microsoft why dont make it better and prove ir no need to compare with the others use your head, copy anyone can do...really a surface of no marketing inteligence

Well considering that part of the Microsoft source code is written in Linux and is vulnerable to many flaws in its platform. Aside from other constituents it's not the most reliable in many aspects. I'll take any Mac over a Windows driven computer. Don't take my word for it I'm just the 500lb gorilla in the room.

I must say that it's a true add, people need to wake up and thanks to Microsoft for doing the right thing. Apple products are way too over priced, and lately they are having too many problems and also they are becoming crazy about security to the point that are driving people from buying their products again. apple sales are down 35%, and the so call iPhone 6se or 7 are even having problems even before coming out. Good lock apple.

My Macbook pro mid 2009 runs on El Capitan (which is by the way the latest OS) and it still run fairly. I still use it to layout large format billboards on it using the latest Adobe CC. Unlike Windows computers that has a lifespan of 3years and it is slow and needs reformatting. Windows computers that run Intel core 2 duo cannot even run the latest Windows 10. Who says Macs are expensive when you have already upgraded to 3 computers from 2009-2016 when I can still use my old computer. I will replace it once the MacOS upgrade on my computer stop. I'm glad I bought a Macbook pro! It is worth every buck!

Not to mention, even if Apple products are overpriced, they are for a reason. It's build quality. I'll have you know I once was a Windows fan because of Wkndows XP and 7, the two perfect if not the best Windows versions I have ever used, but yeah like others above said, Windows computers don't last long and with a computer I once owned made by another company running it, it lasted almost a year and I had constant freezes, slow loading times, constant reboots, you name it. It made me wish I grew up with a Mac because my first time using it, I was all like "where have you been all my life?" This is how blown away I was. This is why cheap means cheap for a reason with most Windows machines. Cheap specs, cheap loading, cheap processing, etc.

When you design and build something, you always compare or try and out do the best...

I swear Apple gets more advertisement without paying for it. When your ads are consistently indirectly geared toward your competition you highlight the strength of the competitor more than your device. I think that's common sense.

For ones I agree with Microsoft, Apple should have put a full operating system on their iPad Pro and not just a lousy iOS, Microsoft gives you the whole package in their Surface pad but Apple are greedy they can do it but they prefer to sell us more products an iPhone, iPad and a laptop, no wonder why they are loosing customers, new Apple became too greedy.

Different products mean more variety and choices! Why combine them all into one when you have a product that doesn't know what it wants to be? (It's resident evil 6 all over again where it tries to be Hitman, Call Of Duty, etc.) But any surface have more apps to use, backlight keyboard, support for OSX or MacOS like a Mac can run Windows?

Tell that to games that were playable since the Apple 2 computer. At here's a reason graphics card existed for a reason. Not to mention MacBook Pro showing Portal 2 graphics performance on it along with remotely playing PS4 on them. Go ahead. Look it up!
