Gravity Sling, one of the first iPhone & iPod Touch games to take advantage of Apple's new policy allowing In App Purchase from free applications, is now available for free download from the App Store. Gravity Sling is an inertia based puzzle game where the player needs to use the gravity of nearby planets to sling the astronaut through space trying to safely get back to the space shuttle.
"We are extremely excited to be one of the first to take advantage of In App Purchase from free applications," said Brian Robbins, Founder of Riptide Games. "We believe this gives players a much better and more seamless game experience, while allowing us to provide the best game we can to the player."
Gravity Sling also incorporates the popular OpenFeint platform enabling integrated leaderboards and achievements throughout the game. Gravity Sling was originally developed as part of the iPhone Game Game held at 360iDev in September. It is the result of a collaboration between Riptide Games, PyroMonkey Productions, Spatial Reasoning, Crucial Games and NoiseBuffet. All Denver-based iPhone developers
Pricing and Availability: Gravity Sling 1.0 is free and available exclusively through the App Store in the Games category. Instead of launching as a full version with separate free-lite version, Gravity Sling is only available as a free download. Players that enjoy the game may purchase an additional level pack of 30 more levels for just $0.99 (USD) or the equivalent amount in their country.
