Apple has reportedly shifted orders for iPad touch panels from TPK to Wintek because of TPK's delayed shipments, according to a DigiTimes report.
Wintek declined to comment. Notably, a report earlier this month claimed it was Wintek's touch panel production caused a delay in iPad shipments.
DigiTimes says Wintek plans to establish a touch panel module production line in Dongguan, southern China, and the company is considering another plan to expand its capacity for front-end touch panel production.
Wintek's claims its current capacity is enough to meet demand but it is optimistic about growth for the segment in the future.
