123 World HD Talking Coloring Book 1.0 Released

Steve Glinberg has announced the release of 123 World HD Geography Coloring Book for iPad; a talking coloring book that teaches geography using engaging artwork, sound effects, animation, live Google maps, and music from around the world. 123 World HD is a fun introduction to maps and geography for children, and a fantastic review of geography for the whole family.

Glinberg, who is profiled in the latest (Summer 2010) issue of iPhone Life Magazine, is an independent software developer - and more importantly, father - who develops educational and fun iPhone and iPad apps for kids, including 123 Color, 123 World, and KidCalc Math Fun.

123 World HD's learning activities challenge children to color in segments of a map. As children find and touch colors on the color pallet, the numbers or letters on the colors are spoken in the selected language(s). Fun sound effects are also played as the map is colored in, and pins drop with labels that identify the names of capital cities, states, territories, countries, continents and oceans. When the labels above the pins are touched, children are taken to an embedded live Google Map in satellite view, with full support for panning and zooming.
