Android 2.2 Froyo Browser Speed Test vs. iPhone 3GS vs. HD2

Posted May 24, 2010 at 3:03pm by iClarified
A video comparing the speed of the Google Nexus One web browser in Froyo (which supports Flash 10.1 beta) vs. the iPhone 3GS and the HD2, has been posted by PocketNow.

According to Google, the web browser in Froyo beats every other mobile browser available right now. That's a lofty claim, and in this video, we put Froyo up against Safari on the iPhone and Opera Mobile 10 on the HD2. The results? You'll have to view the video to find out!

flash beta aside, i wonder if the screen resolutions play a part in the rendering speed of the browser? The android and the hd2 seems to have to render about 2x the number of pixels compared to the 3gs?

Geez! If this demo doesn't validate Steve Job case against Flash, I don't know what does. Even if it's still in beta, they have a long way to go.

Check out the TRUE speed test, with flash turned off on froyo, now the iphone doesn't seem so elite in the browser department. http://pocketnow.com/software-1/round-2-android-22-froyo-web-browser-speed-test-and-comparison
