Apple has introduced new memory and graphics configurations for the iMac Pro.

Buyers now have the option of configuring their iMac Pro with 256GB of 2666MHz DDR4 ECC Memory but it costs an extra $5,200!

If you're looking for better graphics, the iMac Pro can now be configured with Radeon Pro Vega 64X graphics which comes with 16GB of HBM2 memory. That upgrade is an additional $700.

Earlier today, Apple refreshed its iMac lineup with faster processors and graphics. More details on that here.

Geez! Those are pricey addition! The GPU upgrade is somewhat reasonable, as a separate gpu add on will be at least that much. Nice for developers for whom price is no concern, but out of range for the majority of regular consumers. Memory and decent SSDs have long been where Apple really sticks it to their consumers, as the cost of those technologies does NOT justify Apple’s pricing, nor does Apple’s long-vaunted quality.
