We'll be releasing a more official announcement soon, but we wanted to get the tool out there. We sincerely hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed making it :)

Do I need to say more?

I have successfully upgraded and used pwnage on my iPhone. There will be a tutorial tonight or early tomorrow morning, with a video tutorial following soon.

*Please note installer.app will not work!

After having had this "An unknow error occured (1600)" tens of time, I finally succeded ! I was tring to do it with PwnageTool from Mac and from Windows, both never suceeded. Finally, I simply used QuickPwn and it did it all !!! So simple ! I am using iTunes 8 , just had to close it when it tried to open. iPhone 1 , 2.0.2 firmware.

downloaded tried 5-6 times failure, then i input original at&t sim, answered not a legitimate user answered pawned before and then everything worked perfect, very important think now please reply.... Tried to unlock it with a super sim or something like that extra sim i am not quite sure which one i have, iphone responded 10 times no sim card inserted, so i thought i will just put my sim just to make sure that it recognises something and then the miracle, iphone responded sim locked and prompt to enter pin so i did it and now i have a fully unlocked iphone with version 2.o without using any extra stealth or any kind of sim just my own home carrier sim ( Greece wind) is it so easy?? what is going on?? miracle

Worked like a charm for me. Though on one phone, that had the 04.05.xx firmware already installed we had to downgrade that first.

Is it possible to change IMEI with this new Pwnage? or is it possible at all to change the IMEI for the firmware 2.0?

You could enter a wrong EDGE login or password to disable it, no?

Awesome, can't wait for your tutorial. Tried myself and just got an error when the 'simple' version tried to enter DFU mode, and I got an error 1600 trying to restore through iTunes, had to restore the phone to get it out of Recovery mode :( UK iPhone 3G with O2, and activated already mind you.

to download the the bootloader-files, i used the following link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4O0T4XF8 (i found it at http://ipodtouched.net/index.php?s=bootloader) unfortunately i have some problems to finish PwnageTool-process ... i fail when it comes to DFU-mode ... so i wait for a "clear" tutorial

When it fails to enter dfu mode put it into recovery mode by turning it off then holding the home button as you plug it in to your computer. Run Pwntool and follow the steps...it should tell you to turn off the phone, hold down the power and home until it turns off then follow Pwntool's instructions

Spydi I have not been able to locate a way to disable EDGE at this time either. I think it would be wise to return to 1.1.4 or wait for Installer to be made available on 2.0 if you are without a data plan.

using pwntool 2.0 to create custom .ipsw which it did, but when i'm trying to restore iphone with custom firmware i get an error (1) in DFU mode and an error (5) in recovery mode... and 1else? and ideas?

Trying to Jailbreak my Iphone 3g, makes the ipsw, but cannot be pwn, says failed to enter DFU mode, anyone else any luck with the 3g, i have left it alone, put it in dfu mode.. And nothing so, Hmmmmmm?????

Anyone know of software like BossPrefs that will allow me to turn off Edge via Cydia? Installer 4.0 is not out yet, so we can't install any old tools... Now I can't leave my house because I'll get out of WIFI range and start churning down the data which I have to pay $0.05/kb for... yikes!!!
