iPhone 3gs. In going through the procedure, I got an error 10 when restoring in iTunes. The phone then hung at the progress bar. I did a hard reboot and then it went into a recovery loop. I cant get out. Tried with Redsn0w and Tiny Umbrella but neither work. I tried Recovery Fix in Redsn0w but it wants me to enter DFU - I CANT GET OUT OF RECOVER TO ENTER DFU! Procedure history: Started with 3gs on 4.3.5 bb 5.16.02 Downgraded to 4.1 and upgrade bb to iPad 6.15: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1211718 Downgrade baseband to 05.13.04: http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/25350690843/0615-fun Then I tried to upgrade to iSO5.1 without updating baseband (This tutorial on iClarified). And that's when I got the error 10 as noted above.

When creating the custom IPSW file, I was warned that if I have the newer iPhone 3gs, I would need SHSH Blobs to complete the restore? Is this still the case? If so, how do I go about getting such blobs?

I am using my USA AT&T iphone in India, which is locked by AT&T. Before I upgrade it to iOS 5.1 using this tutorial, just want to know whether it will ask for activation after upgrade. I have read somewhere that after you upgrade iOS we need career's sim card to activate it. Please let me know if anybody have any idea.

Sadly I've updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 now it only showing me options to select: Language/Country/wifi/network But my iPhone was jailbroken (not 100% sure I got it second hand). I can't connect to any wifi as there is nothing like this in Bangladesh(where I'm now). The iPhone gives me other options to set my network using iTunes and after taking a while iTunes keeps saying: ""there is no sim card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate"" What to do I even can't use the phone. Please help me

Has anyone really tested to run an iPhone under these conditions? 1) iOS 5.1 JAILBREAKED 2) Preserved Baseband 3) Unlocked using Gevey SIM I have already done it and IT DOES NOT WORK JAILBREAKED (the wellcome message appears, but the "No SIM Card Installed" message is no more displayed). It only runs with iOS 5.1 without a jailbreak. Nobody has answered that question to me. So, if you want to upgrade to iOS 5.x, unlock using Gevey and enjoy having a JAILBROKEN iPhone, DO NOT UPGRADE TO IOS 5.1!!!

Hello all, I have an iPhone 4 baseband 03.10.01 working with Gevey. I have just upgraded to iOS 5.1 using redsn0w. Before jailbreak, I have successfully unblock my iPhone with Gevey script (dial 112, wait message "No SIM card installed" and so on). The problem is: when I jailbreak my iPhone, the "No SIM card installed" message is never displayed. I dont know what else I can do. Someone can help me? Thanks Eder

I have a 3gs old bootrom 00.16.00 bb jailbroken and unlocked using Redsn0w and Ultrsn0w. Am I correct that I can use the above to update to 5.1 and still have untethered Jailbreak and Unlock? Can I downgrade to 5.0.1 if I have saved the proper files?
