iOS 6.1 'Beta 5' is Actually Not a Beta But a Publicly Releaseable Build!

iOS 6.1 'Beta 5' is Actually Not a Beta But a Publicly Releaseable Build!

Posted January 27, 2013 at 2:39am by iClarified
Apple today released 'iOS 6.1 Beta 5'; however, developers have noted that the build is actually not a beta.

I0n1c a well known hacker tweeted:

Interesting thing about the iOS 6.1 Beta 5 release is that it has the build ID of a final, not that of a beta.

His comments were followed up on by winocm:

Looks like iOS 6.1b5 isn't a beta, it activates without developer registration and has no ReleaseType lockdown keys.

MuscleNerd, another popular hacker, revealed that it's actually a publicly releaseable build.

Despite the odd beta naming, as @winocm discovered, this is actually releaseable as public 6.1 at Apple's will. Good! Home stretch....

So why we still get no auto-update to the 6.1?

If you have version 6.0 the auto push update over the air is bugged.

odedoo1 - January 27, 2013 at 8:47am
don't ever upgrade through WiFi, first wait till you know that 6.1 is jail breakable and then always upgrade with iTunes if u wish to jailbreak.
