Elgato Eve Home Monitoring System to Feature Full Integration With Apple's HomeKit

Elgato debuted 'Eve' at IFA 2014 in Berlin, a home monitoring system that will feature full integration with Apple's HomeKit.

As HealthKit combines health data to help you take better care of your health, HomeKit lets your home accessories connect seamlessly to better manage your home. HomeKit delivers a common protocol, secure pairing and the ability to easily control individual or groups of devices throughout the house including integration with Siri. For example, you can tell Siri you are “going to bed” and it could dim the lights, lock your doors, close the garage door and set the thermostat.

Elgato will be previewing its upcoming app-powered system for monitoring your home from your iPhone and iPad. The soon to be launched range of Eve sensors gathers data on air quality, temperature, humidity, air pressure, energy and water consumption in your home, this data is then configured and displayed in Elgato’s Eve app. Users can gain insights that can help improve the comfort of their home, making their house a smarter place. Elgato Eve is the solution for a Smart Home.


Pricing and availability for the Eve product line will be announced soon. The Elgato app Eve is free and will be available in the App Store.

Back in June, it was reported that Apple is developing its own Smart Home hardware that will work with HomeKit. Apple has apparently assembled a team to work on different hardware products for the home that integrates with current Apple devices on the market.
