Apple Stops Signing iOS 10.1 and iOS 10.1.1, Downgrades and Restores No Longer Possible

Posted December 21, 2016 at 12:20am by iClarified
Apple has stopped signing iOS 10.1 and iOS 10.1.1, meaning that downgrading or restoring to those firmware versions is no longer possible.

Currently, Apple's latest firmware is iOS 10.2 and developers have been seeded with iOS 10.2.1.

As we reported earlier, developer Luca Todesco may be working on a jailbreak based on a kernel and root exploit released by Project Zero Team. Those exploits are only found in iOS 10.1.1 so hopefully you managed to get on that firmware version before the signing window closed.

If a jailbreak is released, we will keep you up to date with the latest news and tutorials. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates. Take care not to accidentally update to iOS 10.2 if you're planning to jailbreak your device.

Yeh it's because Lucas big mouth and probably because he first sold up to Apple collecting the $200,000 reward, iOS 10.1.1 was supposed to stay opened for at least 2 more weeks but because of Luca we will have one chance of jailbreaking no restore if it breaks our devices.

Breaking news about jailbreak... Luca Todesco is the only person in solar system who enjoys benefits of jailbreak on iOS 10.1.1, LOL

Anyone enjoying that 10.1.1 jailbreak that never came out. Yeah, knew that wasn't going to happen. I guess jailbreaking is dead. That sucks.

What does Apple no longer signing iOS 10.1.1 have to do with the pending jailbreak?

You can hear all the pirates crying from every corner of the world. How on earth are they going to play Mario if they can't jailbreak their phone? Pay $10? Never!

I don't think you understand jailbreak. There are a dozen ways to get free apps without needing to jailbreak. Last phone I had that was jailbroken I had one unpaid app and probably 60 installed jailbreak modifications and enhancements.

Because the major exploits were fixed in 10.2 making it easy more difficult to jailbreak
