New August 'View' Doorbell Leaked [Photo]

A new August 'View' doorbell and chime has been leaked ahead of CES 2019.

The doorbell was spotted by Dave Zatz. It features a narrow design which should fit a much larger variety of homes, unlike the previous square design of the Doorbell Cam Pro.

Whereas their original entrants were an unpractical and befuddling shape for many homes, possibly too stylized for some, this new design hits all the right notes (visually) for me – easily besting Ring’s entrants and perhaps on equal footing with the attractive Nest Hello.


Check out the trademark filing for AUGUST VIEW here. It's not guaranteed that the company will unveil the new doorbell at CES; however, it's definitely a possibility.

It's also unclear if the doorbell will support Apple HomeKit. Apple removed the smart doorbell category from its site in July of last year. Hopefully, we'll see it make a return soon.
