Apple Tablet Won't Have Intel Inside?

Apple may have decided to use a P.A. Semi chip inside their upcoming tablet instead of a going with the Intel Atom, according to an article by TheStreet.

Based on conversations with Apple's design manufacturing partners, Northeast Securities analyst Ashok Kumar says unfortunately for Intel, it didn't make the cut.

There has been speculation that Intel's new generation of Atom chips was in the running for the slot, but Apple ultimately chose a processor developed by P A Semi, a chip shop Apple acquired two years ago, according to another analyst familiar with the so-called build plan.


Intel will likely be used in other tablet brands including those from Microsoft and Dell; however, if Apple does release a revolutionary product and this report is accurate, Intel can't be happy.
