iPhones Will Not Support Apple Pencil, May Not Support Bi-Lateral Wireless Charging, More [Report]

A new report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple's next generation iPhones will not support the Apple Pencil and may not support bi-lateral wireless charging, a feature that was widely rumored.

Similar to Samsung's PowerShare, bi-lateral wireless charging would let users wirelessly charge other devices like AirPods using their iPhones. Initially, this was predicted to be one of the key features of the new smartphones; however, Kuo says it could be scrapped because the "charging efficiency may not meet Apple's requirements."

Kuo also predicts that the both the 5.8-inch iPhone and 6.5-inch iPhone will not switch to USB-C but will gain a faster charger in the box. The 18W power adapter will allegedly have a USB-C connector and use a USB-C to Lightning cable. The next generation iPhone XR is expected to come with a 5W USB-A charger.

Kuo also reiterated previous rumors including 'new colors' and ultra-wide band technology.

Finally, the analyst expects shipments of the iPhone 11 to decline 5-10% YoY to 65-70 million units in 2019 due to 'a lack of innovative selling points'. Overall iPhone sales could still reach 180 million units due to 'price-cut legacy iPhone models', says Kuo.

I knew their wouldn't be Apple Pencil support. I mean imagine trying to use the pencil features on such cramped space. It would be awkward.
