Leaked Screenshots and Video Claim to Show iPhone 12 Pro Max With 120Hz Toggle, LiDAR Settings, More

Leaker Jon Prosser has published some screenshots and video claiming to show settings from an iPhone 12 Pro Max production validation (PVT) prototype.

The alleged Display settings screen has an 'Enable High Refresh Rate' toggle. Under the toggle it reads, "Please check if your PVT model supports high refresh rate. Attempting to enable high refresh rate on unsupported hardware may revoke unexpected behaviour."

If the toggle is switched on, another 'Enable Adaptive Refresh Rate' toggle appears. That toggle description reads, "If enabled, the device will alter the refresh rate from 120hz to 60hz in accordance to the content displayed on-screen."

The purported Camera settings screen has an 'Enable Camera Features' toggle that when switched ON reveals the following settings:

● Enable LiDAR CA: This enables LiDAR assisted auto focus and subject detection for Video and Night Mode. TTR unsupported, file manually.
● Enable Video Modes: Enables enhanced video recording modes. (4k@120FPS/4k@240FPS Slow Mo)
● Enable Enhanced Night Mode: Enables enhanced night mode with extended exposure times. SALPA is only available with a tripod or when the device is on a steady surface. This settings is unaffected by LiDAR CA
● Enable Advanced Noise Reduction
● Enable Bit Depth Video
● Enable Zoom Capabilities

In a tweet, Prosser also makes the following observations:
● True Depth array same size.
● Bezels are “noticeably thinner”
● Slightly larger display - making the notch “appear” smaller.
● Face ID works from wider angles. Even flat on a table.
● Sides are flat, but glass has slight curve.
● Rear cam module is 10% larger.
